How To DESTROY Your Competition In Life

Updated: Nov 17, 2020

There's a paradox when thinking about competition.

It's true, you need to know what your competitors are doing. You need to analyse them to give a fair assessment of what your goals should be.

It's also important to be constantly learning from your competition - what they're achieving, what angles they take, what type of industries they venture into.

But here's the problem with competition on a personal level...

Nobody's achievements matter except for yours. Not if you're seeking peace of mind, fulfilment and freedom, rather than fame.

Say you're at your goal income, let's use the example of 10k a month.

Once you've reached that, do you think you'll just call it a day?

Of course not, you'll be higher up in status, you'll be networking with people making £20k, £40k and £100k.

Suddenly, your £10k looks measly.

The same thing happens with attractiveness, possessions and other materialistic goals.

That's why you should only be in competition with yourself, and you should never depend on beating someone else for your happiness.

Otherwise you're depending on something outside of your control for emotional stability. That's always a bad move.

So you might be thinking, 'sure, but I need to give myself goals'.

Yes, that's 100% true. But the difference is your goals should be exactly that - YOUR goals.

So what does it mean in practice? It means every time you see a 14 year old making 10k a month dropshipping, or a 22 year old millionaire, you shouldn't compare yourself.

Instead, realise that as long as you're working towards your own vision and goals, while constantly improving your health, wealth and relationships, then you're doing better than 95% of people out there.

You might think you need certain things to be happy, but the reality is the present moment won't change when you achieve it.

That's why you should continue to be grateful for what you do have, and work everyday towards your goals.
