Can't afford something? Try this trick..

How often have you been in a shop, and you see a pair of Yeezys, a 80 inch smart TV or Louie Vuitton handbag (whatever takes your fancy) that would upgrade your life - despite being way out of your price range.

You go over, check the price, then disappointingly mutter to yourself 'ah, wish I could afford it'.

I did that for a long time too.

Until I discovered this trick...

Every time you see something expensive you wish you owned, instead of thinking 'I can't afford it', ask yourself 'How can I afford it?'

By telling yourself that you can't afford something, you ingrain the notion that you are someone that can't afford things. And as you know, if you tell yourself something enough times it becomes your identity.

That's because your subconscious mind is BEGGING for shortcuts.

It doesn't sleep, and it is powerful.

Every second your subconscious mind is feeding off your conscious mind to create your personality, you need to make sure it feeds off the right stuff.

Every time your tell it you can't afford something, it updates your programming to believe that you are a consumer, not a creator.

By questioning how you can afford something, you are telling your mind that you are someone who finds ways to afford things.

You are telling you're brain that you believe you have the capability of earning more money, that you are a problem solver, and that you do not believe that being unable to afford something is a permanent state.

This will also drift your mind to a more meaningful cause - the cause to earn more money to have greater freedom. Rather than fixating on material objects.

This will bring you far greater meaning than any pair of Yeezys.

Oh, and remember this graph:

Of course you should treat yourself now and again, but don't forget that wanting what you have is better than having what you want.
